FatMan here. This picture was taken and text written 10/18/2007. I am back on weight loss track. This just finished week (ending 10/18/2007) I lost 4 pounds. 3 pounds TODAY!!! My diet has really started to kick in and I am optimistic that I will be able to lose another 5-7 pounds this NEW week (ending  10/25) and finish up at 180, or lower, by 10/31. This past week I CONSISTENTLY dieted, exercised and drank tons of water. And it worked!

For those of you that follow this weekly update closely you will notice that I am doing this update earlier than my usual Saturday. I will be out most of the weekend and unavailable so I thought I would go ahead and get the "good news" out early rather than later. My picture may suffer some because they are taken a few days early but really I think I look thinner. I have a "thinner" mindset and am really pretty motivated.

It is amazing how much easier it is to diet when you get RESULTS. It helps your motivation immensely. Everything seems to go along more smoothly. I am sure that this is mostly in my mind, but dieting and losing weight really is largely dependent on how you manage your daily emotions. The better you can control/manage your emotion responses to your dieting ups and downs the better success you will have on your diet.

I am still exercising even though it is MUCH more difficult with lower caloric intake. You get tired more easily. It also means that you are forcing your body to find more fuel elsewhere other than what is added to your stomach via your throat. This means your body has to burn fat or muscle. I am taking Whey Protein to help me retain my muscle mass. That leaves only fat for my body to burn (hopefully). Anyway as of today I have 11 pounds left to lose and 39 days to go. The next 10 days should put me within 5 pounds of my goal.
